The Position:

To generate profitable revenue from the sales of IT products and services in the Mercator?s portfolio to airlines and airports within an assigned territory / prospects list.
To develop and manage an on-going relationship with the assigned existing Mercator external customers and potential new customers, as to ensure that Mercator meets the contracted terms / customer expectations and in order to initiate new sales opportunities.

Job Outline:


? Identify and pursue enough new opportunities within the assigned territory for building a growth-oriented business forecast and sales targets.


? Plan and implement effective sales campaigns to convert those opportunities into business for Mercator, such that business targets are met.


? Develop & manage account's plans that would ensure the realisation of the contracted revenue as per the approved projects Business Case, and that would facilitate new opportunities for other Mercator products & services within the accounts managed.


? Establish and develop direct contacts with key personnel (ex. Director IT, CFO, Divisional Manager of Revenue Accounts or Commercial Operations) in all the organisations handled, networking effectively to promote Mercator products and services.


? Oversee and ensure implementation teams have internal and external resources to deliver projects to customers on time within budget and to ensure total customer satisfaction with Mercator.


? Contribute towards and implement the internally developed marketing programs including manning of relevant exhibitions to reinforce the image of Mercator in the marketplace, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of these programs.


? Provide input gained from the market to the Product Strategy Manager to ensure that products are kept up to date and competitive in the market, and provide market intelligence and analysis of competitive products, pricing policy, strengths and weaknesses of competitors in the marketplace.


? Provide periodic status reports to MRS&M, using set standards, on the activities carried and the next actions planned to progress on the achievement of targets. This includes taking remedial action as required on a range of sales, accounts and implementation issues.


Salary & Benefits:

Qualifications:


? Degree or Honours (12 3 or equivalent)
? Experience gained in both multinational and multi-cultural environments would be an added benefit.

Knowledge:

Major account or high value / long sales cycle sales experience in a multinational environment. Ability to negotiate with senior decision-makers in customer accounts. Good presentation and negotiating skills required. Airline industry knowledge preferable.
