The Position:

Responsible for effective implementation of corporate training and development strategies for functional areas optimising resources through efficient planning and quality control to support business goals. Working closely with senior business managers, the job holder will ensure that all L & D Solutions are aligned to desired business results, developed and delivered using global best practices, within set budget and quality frameworks.

 

Job Outline

  1. Vision, Mission and Values
    Lead the implementation of departmental mission, values, goals and policies; demonstrate behaviours to represent and promote these and act as a catalyst in change management.
  2. Work Programme and Project Management
    To plan, develop and manage the annual training programme based on defined Learning and Development strategies and negotiate priorities with business managers based on resources, budgets and timeframes available to implement business critical operating plans. To plan and manage projects in adherence with the Quality and Standards Framework.
  3. Learning Solutions and Organisational Development
    Manage business learning and performance needs and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through innovative solutions that adhere to the ADDIE cycle of training and development and ensure efficient utilisation of technology and resources. Diagnose learning and performance gaps, recommend, design, develop and deliver solutions and evaluate business impact, consistently achieving excellent customer satisfaction at all levels and meeting agreed KPIs.
  4. Quality Management
    Internally verify and quality assure the work within the team, ensuring all work assignments and
    team processes adhere to the Quality and Standards Framework. Manage and monitor evidence for the achievement of the Quality and Standards Framework in preparation for internal and external audit and to recommend continual process improvements.
  5. People Management and Development
    Actively partner with team members to identify and review performance objectives, competencies and development plans, manage performance and promote self-directed learning in order to sustain a high calibre team.
  6. Finance: Cost Management and Revenue Generation
    Prepare and manage budget plans, while exercising cost control and promoting efficiency. In line with the Corporate Training and Development revenue generation strategy, support business development through provision of professional expertise and products.
  7. Business Relationship Management
    Manage collaborative relationships with EAC managers, business line managers, joint ventures and external entities by understanding their interests and business impact, providing consultancy in order to drive consistent and effective training and development services whilst safeguarding the interests of the Emirates Group.
  8. ROLE-SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES FOR COMMERCIAL AND OPERATIONAL L&D MANAGER
    Operational and Commercial Project Portfolio Management
    Lead and manage a portfolio of projects that help deliver business benefits of strategic importance to assigned Operational and Commercial departments in Dubai and across the global network:
    Emirates Commercial Operations, dnata Travel, EmQuest and Destination & Leisure Management
    Emirates and dnata Airport Services
    Emirates SkyCargo and dnata Cargo
    Ground Operations
    Identify and prioritise all L&D requirements of the above areas, map key stakeholders and resources, manage programme-level risks for multiple projects and manage overall implementation of solutions to deliver return on customer expectations.
  9. Operational and Commercial Business Intelligence
    Integrate intelligence pertaining to air transport industry, emerging trends and international regulations and policies of national and international bodies and evaluate the impact on Emirates Group Operational and Commercial departments in Dubai and across the global network as listed above. Provide strategic level input to people development initiatives, align L&D solutions and develop and implement change programmes to keep the operation at the leading edge.
  10. Executive coaching
    Executive coaching partnerships with business leaders to reach a specific goal in their professional development. The specific areas of coaching may include interpersonal and professional communication, performance management, organizational effectiveness, developing executive presence, enhancing strategic thinking, dealing effectively with conflict, and building an effective team within an organization.
