Chief Operating Officer
Horizon international Flight Academy a pioneer expanding training organization, specialized in training students for Helicopter & Fix Wing ; based in Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates, is looking to recruit a Chief Operating Officer – COO.
Position holder is expected to mmanage the operations/ training and ensure the operations plans and training standards are maintained and executed to meet the customers’ expectations. Assist the CEO with developing and executing corporate and operational strategies, and run day to day operations activities
Subdivisions: Ground School, Fixed Wing training, Rotary Wing Training, Aircraft Maintenance & operations room
Qualifications and Experience
- Education : College degree holder preferable in Aviation Management
- Knowledge of JAA , EASA, FAA or GCAA regulations
- Suitable experience in commercial aviation operations or multidisciplinary environment
- Suitable executive management of flight operation (Preferably civil operations and preferably training academy management experience).
- A flying background with a current and valid license and instructor rating is preferable

Horizon International Flight Academy was started in 2003 as an academy for training Fixed Wing and Helicopter Pilots to International standards. Wholly owned by Mubadala Development Company, the investment arm of the Abu Dhabi Government, Horizon opened its doors to its first batch of student pilots in September 2003 after receiving certification as an approved training institute from the GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority). Horizon provides safe, skilled and quality flight instruction, both primary and advanced through the expertise of our instructors, professionals who have been in the industry for many years, with Corporate and Military backgrounds.
What we offer
Situated at Al Ain Airport, Horizon is in its third year offering both flying and non flying courses. Spread over 3100 square meters of training facilities, the academy is set within the boundary of the Al Ain International Airport and is purpose built for flight training with a capacity for 100 students. Offering training for Helicopter and Fixed Wing Aircraft, Horizon is ideally suited for training in a focused Aviation environment and meets the requirements of the ICAO and JAA guidelines.
Horizon has ventured into broader aspects of the Aviation Industry in the region by diversifying its portfolio of services to additional lines of business including Aviation Consultancy services such as, fleet management as well as aircraft maintenance.
Over the years the business has grown and our customer base has expanded to the Middle East and Northern Africa Region; however, the commitment to customer satisfaction has not been deterred, in fact the Academy strives to meet the customer's needs and to provide the quality services the customer's have come to rely on from Horizon International Flight Academy.
