. JOB PURPOSE: To provide strategic commercial and operational leadership and general management to ensure Qatar Airways Premium Class passengers receive best possible service and products within Premium Lounges. Accountable to ensure Premium Lounge product and service remains competitive to competitor's service and product. Manage the Al Maha Services unit through close monitoring of operations and sales results in order to establish the unit as a quality service provider, to enhance the airport services and to generate income. Ensure development and effectual use of manpower. Maintain effective communication with all relevant external and internal bodies. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Operational Premium Lounges . Manage and ensure work output which that meets agreed standard of quantity, quality, cost and time frame that maintain financial viability. . Organize resources effectively and co-ordinate necessary activities to ensure efficient and risk free operation. . To ensure efficient and effective communication throughout the lounge operation and with internal and external bodies where necessary. . Provide efficient leadership and promote positive teamwork. . To be customer, service and people focused. . Be competent of problem solving skill, analytical skills, creative thinking and to be able to use own initiative. . Identify departmental training needs and implementation of training programs to ensure well trained workforce and to provide continuous personnel development to staff. . To be innovative and creative in developing product and services. Al Maha Services . Develop and promote the new Al Maha Service unit in order to create and sustain revenue streams, . which are supplementary to the income generated by QR . Plan and organize resources in order to ensure smooth functioning of the unit . Manage and motivate the team towards performance excellence and maintain discipline within the unit Budgets & Business Plans . Prepare the annual business plans and operating and budgets, ensuring that adequate funding provision are made for all activities within area of responsibility. . Monitor expenditure against approved levels on a regular basis and investigates and justifies significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control Management & Leadership . Establish department objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. . Regularly evaluate the department objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed. . Champion and direct the process of effective departmental planning including recruiting, training, developing and enhancing capabilities of staff; implementing relevant HR best practices and ensuring a high level of employee engagement and motivated work environment . Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate the team and others, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization. . Tenacity and energy in leading change towards an effective work environment. Development . Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise. . Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management. . Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program. . Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Qualifications: Essential . Bachelor's degree . Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, Business Management Previous Experience: Essential . Expert - minimum 7 years of job-related experience required . Work experience in Management of luxury hospitality establishment Preferred . Work experience in GCC . Work experience in Airline / Airport management . Work experience in Hotel pre opening Job Specific Skills: Essential . Advance understanding of Premium Product and service. . Passion for finest product and service . Able to perform analyses of complex nature. . Proven ability to work under pressure to defined tight timescales and budget . Proven to have demonstrated flexibility in meeting the demands of the business unit to which he/she is assigned. . Good analytical and decision-making skills. . Proven ability for solution-oriented, effective communication with internal departments and external stakeholders. . Proven ability to use Microsoft Office suite of applications. Preferred .
