Our client requires an experienced TOOLING DESIGN ENGINEER to support key Composites Projects in Co Down, Northern Ireland.
JOB PURPOSE: The job holder will be responsible for the design, management and maintenance of all tooling activities within Composites.
PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES:
To design composite tooling for manufacture, through internal & external resources. Provide expert consultation to the IPT (Integrated Product Team) across the facility on all tooling related issues. Generate technical documentation, specifications & tooling standards for external vendors. Program management of tooling projects, advising on vendor selection, budgetary control and acceptance & commissioning. Supervise activities of tool maintenance personnel within a tool repair shop. Drive continuous improvement in tooling methods & strategies. Recommend alterations & enhancements to improve quality of products and procedures. Other duties as deemed relevant to the position.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
2+ years working experience in a tooling engineer role. 1+ years working experience in 2D & 3D modelling. EU Member Passport Holder.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
Third level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline. 1+ years working experience of composite production techniques & processes. 3+ years working experience in a tool manufacturing environment. 3+ years working experience of working with external vendors to deliver tooling packages.
