Our customer is a leading name in the provision is services to the Business Jet Industry
They are seeking to appoint a Manufacturing Manager with sheet metal, fabrications and sub assembly background (preferably in aerospace Industry) to join their operation in the Essex/Herts area.
? To lead the manufacturing facility in meeting and exceeding customer requirements on quality, cost and delivery.
2. Knowledge and Experience
? Extensive knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing processes
? Hands on approach
? Understands MRP system and how it drives the key business processes
? Understands the benefits of visual management
? First class leadership and motivational skills
? Commitment to continual improvement in manufacturing, quality, health, safety and environmental management
? Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and other modern manufacturing methods.
? Experience of production management in a medium size business 50 - 100 employees
? Understanding of lean principles
3. Principal Accountabilities
? To ensure customer requirements are satisfied in terms of product quality, cost and delivery
? To develop a manufacturing strategy and business plan which support the Group strategy
? To provide leadership and direction for the manufacturing facility
? To ensure that capacity planning, scheduling and procurement/materials management activities are carried out in order to meet customer requirements
? To recruit and retain an appropriately skilled workforce and to continue to develop the skills and capabilities of all employees
? To develop a culture of continuous improvement in the workplace
? To develop and mentor teams and the team working ethos within the business as part of the continuous improvement culture
? To identify and eliminate all forms of waste in the manufacturing process
? To formulate budgets and ensure the manufacturing facility operates within budget and generates revenue
? To ensure the manufacturing facility and its equipment is appropriately maintained and cleaned
? To ensure quality standards and procedures are observed and maintained
? To establish and maintain a legally compliant and safe working environment
? To generate visual business metrics, which enable business performance to be tracked on a regular basis and targets achieved
? To lead and support business improvement initiatives (ie cost reduction, process improvement, housekeeping)
? To work within cross functional teams to support business development, growth and improvement projects as required.
? To ensure appropriate standard of behaviour and conduct are maintained within the business in line with company policies.

? OTIF supply of product to our customers
? Quality assured products supplied to customers
? Maintenance of a safe working environment
? Productivity and cost reduction improvements
? Delivery of specific business improvement projects (ie set-up reduction, agreed percentage cost reductions)
