Senior Electro-Mechanical Designer

Location: Wimborne, Dorset

Salary: Competitive

Our client requires a Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer role to support both the Structural and Mechanical Design requirements across several varied aerospace programmes. Our client's innovating projects and productions are both diverse and complex electromechanical systems, so any experience in a similar field using pro engineer will be advantageous.

They are at the forefront in the development, delivery and support of aerospace and defence systems on land, air and at sea and are currently recognised as one of the world's leading companies. They work closely with well known business partners that trust them to deliver the mission-critical technology as required.

Key Responsibilities:

·To progress electro-mechanical design elements of a project as an activity integrated with all other design inputs from within an integrated project team, in order to develop the compliant design solution.

·Leading small design teams when required

·Liaising with both inter-departmental colleagues and IPT members.

·Report technical progress to Engineering and Programmes team leaders

·Ensure drawings comply to Mission Equipment design and configuration control processes.

·Support of yearly PDR process for Design team members, as well as being mentor to other members of design team.

·Assist Team Management in the development and management of the Electro-Mechanical Team.

·Assist Head of Group with process improvements in support of continual improvement philosophy.

Qualifications and experience :

The ideal candidate will have:

·A Degree/HND/HNC or the Equivalent in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering

·Be proficient in both 2D and 3D Draughting & Design using programs such as Pro E Wildfire 4 however experience of any other CAD packages will be considered.

·Experience of Microsoft Office applications

·Any Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship is advantageous.

·Vast Assembly management, Surfacing, Sheet metal and pro/cabling experience also an advantage.

·RSD and Hardware an advantage

·Intralink, SmarTeam and Catia experience also an advantage

·Experience in work for Airbus & /or Boeing also an advantage

Good level of report writing and adapt with most IT packages
