Our Technical Documentation has an immediate opening for an Airplane Flight Manual Author.

This challenging position involves:

  • Development of the Airplane Flight Manual (AFM) / Pilot¿s Operating Handbook (POH) and Flight Crew Operations Manual (FCOM) for a new Part 23 aircraft
  • The formatting and presentation of aircraft limitations, normal and emergency procedures, performance, weight and balance and system description with schematic data, in a manner that is straight forward and easily understood by a pilot
  • The production of draft illustrations from drawings, photographs, sketches etc. to aid in the final preparation of artwork
  • Liaison with engineering, certification, test pilots, and flight test department for the efficient creation of the required texts
  • Liaison with internal certification and external airworthiness authorities for the approval of the documents

For this position you are required to have the following skills and background:

  • Pilot with a background of a civilian flying career in the US environment
  • In-depth knowledge of the civil aviation certification requirements and flight operation regulations pertaining to the AFM and FCOM
  • English mother tongue; basic knowledge of German is not mandated but would be beneficial
  • Experience in the arena of Airplane Flight Manual preparation, approval and continued maintenance
