ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - N. Ireland 

My Client in Co Down, Northern Ireland requires an experienced Electrical Engineer to support new and on-going Aerospace projects. 

KEY PURPOSE

To engage and consult with electrical field service engineers and PMO representatives to pre-empt assembly issues which can affect our manufacturing process, identifying solutions and support production in a timely manor to maintain a high level of productivity and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main onsite point of contact for all electrical vendors. Identify risk associated with new products and perform product validation prior to production. Liaise between Electrical vendors, manufacturing, Quality and Engineering. Establish Standardised testing methods to meet customer acceptance test requirement by creating a lean repeatable process. Support engineering dept by understanding and communicating electrical design issues. Identify and define technical specifications to simulate A/C harnesses. Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained via standardized test work stations. Perform preventative maintenance of test equipment to prevent part failure. Disposition all NCR’s for electrical failures by providing technical explanations of the fault and looking for reoccurring trends among failures. Develop training for assembly operators on how to use the equipment and provide explanations of the purpose and scope of the activities which they are to perform. Forecast all future demand for test equipment requirements for all future production activity. Monitor all current test performance and monitor to identify areas of continuous improvement. Obtain an in depth technical understanding of all electrical systems in order to provide rapid trouble shooting advise to resolve assembly issues quickly and efficiently. Research and development of systems to support lean manufacturing and assembly. Any other duties as required to support business needs.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

3rd level qualification in electrical or electronic engineering. Relevant engineering experience gained in a manufacturing environment. EU member Passport holder. Fluent written and verbal English language skills 

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

Relevant experience in implementing the principles of lean manufacturing. Working knowledge of IFE systems. Working knowledge in an assembly environment. Experience of Aerospace procedures and regulations.
