Loongair Airlines offers a superb A320 captain package. Return home with more than a million dollars net of tax after a six year contract.

Loongair Airlines is based in Hangzhou in the Province of Zhejiang in Eastern China, about two hours by road South West of Shanghai. Located on the shores of the Yangtze River, the city is one of most scenic cities of China.

In September 2013, Loongair Airlines ordered twenty A320s. It requires for immediate and upcoming employment 20 Airbus A320 Captains.

Remuneration and benefit package

All remuneration is paid after taxes have been paid in China. Before tax remuneration is presented to make it easier to compare remuneration levels with before tax home remuneration. China taxation treaties prevent double taxation.

For Option 1, Full Time Residency

An all in package equivalent to 391,800 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 250,000 US$ per year at a Chinese taxation rate of 36.2 %. Higher home taxation rate would increase the before tax remuneration level. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

  • a monthly remuneration package, including allowance and bonuses, averaging 20,833 US$ net of taxes as follows:
    • 17,500 US$ base remuneration for the first three year term;
    •  overtime pay of 200 US$ per hour above 80 hours per month;
    •  a monthly lodging allowance of 1,500 US$
    •  an 8,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months of service, a 10,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 24 months of service and a 12,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months,;
    •  a 6,000 US$ yearly safety bonus paid every 12 months;
    •  a travel allowance of 6,000 US$ per year;
  •  expat support services at screening, induction and throughout the period of service.

For Option 2, 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 369,500 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 238,000 US$ per year at a Chinese taxation rate of 35.6 %. Higher home taxation rate would increase the before tax remuneration level. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

  • a monthly remuneration package, including allowance and bonuses, averaging 19,833 US$ net of taxes as follows:
    • 16,500 US$ base remuneration for the first three year term;
    •  overtime pay of 200 US$ per hour above 80 hours per month;
    •  a monthly lodging allowance of 1,500 US$
    •  an 8,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months of service, a 10,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 24 months of service and a 12,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months,;
    •  a 6,000 US$ yearly safety bonus paid every 12 months;
    •  a travel allowance of 6,000 US$ per year;
  •  expat support services at screening, induction and throughout the period of service.

For Option 3, 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotations

An all in package equivalent to 335,300 US$ before tax per year

Before tax remuneration is based on after tax package of 224,000 US$ per year at a Chinese taxation rate of 33.2 %. Higher home taxation rate would increase the before tax remuneration level. The net of tax package encompasses the following:

  • a monthly remuneration package, including allowance and bonuses, averaging 18,667 US$ net of taxes as follows:
    • 15,500 US$ base remuneration for the first three year term;
    •  overtime pay of 200 US$ per hour above 80 hours per month;
    •  a monthly lodging allowance of 1,500 US$
    •  an 8,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months of service, a 10,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 24 months of service and a 12,000 US$ yearly loyalty bonus paid after 12 months;
    •  a 6,000 US$ yearly safety bonus paid every 12 months;
    •  a travel allowance of 6,000 US$ per year;
  •  expat support services at screening, induction and throughout the period of service.

A three year renewable contract is offered for all three options.

Qualifications and experience requirements

Candidates must:

  • hold a passport from a country with diplomatic relations with China;
  • hold a recognized airline pilot license with a valid and current captain type rating on an A320 family variants issued by a member country of ICAO;
  • have at least 3,000 hours total time;
  • have at least 500 hours PIC on an aircraft of the A320 aircraft family at the start of employment;
  • having flown an aircraft of the A320 aircraft family as captain within the last 12 months;
  • hold a valid Class 1 medical and be age 55 or below at the start of employment;
  • speak English fluently and hold at minimum an ICAO Level IV English certificate or higher (must be indicated on license);
  • have no record of responsibility for any aviation incident/accident;
  • have no record of criminal activities;

Preference will be given to candidates who have renewed their proficiency check (PC) within the last 6 months.

Assistance and Support in China

AeroPersonnel provides the best Expat Pilot support in China. Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week in English and Chinese.

AeroPersonnel representatives will be waiting for you at the airport on the date of your arrival in China for your screening. They will personally escort you every day of the screening process. They will be there again when you report for work and will assist with your induction with the Airline. They will also be there during the full duration of your period of service in China.

The Application Process

The application process entails the following steps:

  • Initial evaluation based on candidate resume and documents leading to screening invitation
  • Screening in Shanghai including simulator evaluation, medical examination and ATPL written test (AeroPersonnel provides screening guidelines to prepare for the screening and study material for the ATPL written exam)
  • Upon acceptance for employment, work visa documentation process including non-criminal activity report, license validation and background check.

  • No violation/incident/accident letter from last employer or relevant Civil Aviation Authority;
  • Notarized no-criminal activities certification from local police.
