GAL Air Navigation Services LLC is currently seeking a Manager, Standards & Procedures to join its expanding team at GAL ANS. To hold responsibility for the creation, implementation and maintenance of ATC Operational Standards and Procedures and associated documentation related to the responsibilities of GAL Air Navigation Services commitment to their Client’s ATC Contract.  To assist with work strands necessary to achieve GCAA ANSP Certification.

GAL Air Navigation Services L.L.C. is a leading provider of specialized technical services in the field of Air Traffic Management in the United Arab Emirates handling close to half a million air traffic movements annually within the UAE FIR.

GAL ANS is a private company registered in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, and employs close to 1000 aviation professionals, around 50% of whom are UAE Nationals.

Current customers include Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide oversight to the assurance requirement at each unit assigned ensuring laid down standards, procedures and practices are adhered to;
  • Provide regulatory process direction and guidance to Unit Management and Government Clients, as well as ensuring GAL ANS HQ policy and procedures are implemented successfully at a local level;
  • Manage and oversee departmental projects to ensuring on-time delivery and end-state requirements are met. Includes delegation of project deliverables to departmental staff;
  • Maintain relationships with clients and entities assigned to you with the aim of developing new business opportunities in the long-term whilst improving the interoperability of existing partnerships;
  • Coordinate with senior management to assure operational standards are being upheld and provide high level oversight to protect company’s business strategies and interests;
  • Oversee the review of all proposals for changes in line with CAAP41/25 requirements that will influence ATC operations and make recommendations regarding feasibility, suitability and safety related issues;
  • Undertake periodic reviews of operational documentation ensuring they comply with GCAA and ICAO regulations, wherever practical;
  • Direct the control and maintenance of databases in accordance with GAL ANS QHSE policies.


  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent aviation industry related diploma;
  • Strong knowledge of GCAA regulatory processes and ICAO SARPS;
  • Good linguistic and literary ability to ensure operational and functional issues and descriptions are conveyed effectively to non-operationally orientated staff.  This applies to both Arabic staff with English as a second language and English as a first spoken language staff;
  • Undertake periodic reviews of operational documentation ensuring they comply with GCAA and ICAO regulations, wherever practical;
  • Minimum experience, candidates will have 10 years civil and military ATC experience, including operational Air Traffic Control and have an excellent understanding of Airspace Management between both Civil and Military aviation authorities

Essential Experience

Ideally candidates will have more than 15 years civil and military ATC experience, including Unit management experience.
