Minimum requirements are as follows:

  • 600+ hours PIC on type (any Airbus or Boeing aircraft or CRJ900/EMB190)
    • NOTE:  Non-rated Captains will need to provide a flight time verification letter from their Civil Aviation Authority or current airline.
  • 3000 hours Total Time
  • Current within 12 months
  • Age limit:  30-53 years
  • Valid/current ATPL
  • Valid passport issued by a country that has diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China
  • Valid/current Class A (First Class) Medical
  • No history of incidents or accidents.  Must provide a letter from your current/previous employer.
  • ICAO Level 4 (or equivalent) English proficiency
  • No criminal history. 

Base:  Shanghai, China
Term:  3 years.

Total Compensation (airline pays your taxes in China): UP TO $289,000 per year! (includes all bonuses and allowances)

NEW:  $20,000 bonus for CAAC license holders
 

Resident 1:  Living in China  (50 days paid annual leave…based on 850 flight hours)

Base salary: $20,000/mo

Relocation allowance:  $ 2173 (one-time payment)

Travel:        $ 833/mo

Overseas Employment Allowance: $666/mo.

Overnight out-of-base allowance (est):  $500/mo

Contract Completion Bonus: $18,000 (paid at the end of contract).  

Renewal bonus:  $40,000 paid at the end of the 2nd contract term.

Overtime: $365/hr. over 850 hours

Operation bonus:  57RMB per flight hour…$585/mo

Special Airport Allowance: $200/mo

Target Salary:  $298,306 per year during 1st term (including 50 hours overtime), $317,640 during 2nd term.

Resident 2:  Living in China (50 days of paid annual leave…based on 750 flight hours)

Total Compensation: $22,215 per month

Base salary: $18,000/mo

Relocation allowance:      $ 2173 (one-time payment)

Travel:        $ 833/mo

Overseas Employment Allowance: $666/mo.

Base salary: $13,500/mo

Relocation allowance:      $ 2230 (one-time payment)

Travel:        $ 416/mo

Overseas Employment Allowance: $333/mo.

Overnight out-of-base allowance (est):  $300/mo

Contract Completion Bonus: $9,000 (paid at the end of contract).

Renewal bonus:  $20,000 paid at the end of the 2nd contract term.

Overtime: $220/hr. over 600 hours

Operational bonus:  57RMB per flight hour…$413/mo

Special Airport Allowance:  $80/mo

Target Salary:  $185,524 per year during 1st term (including 10 hours overtime), $185,350 during 2nd term.

Supplemental Benefits:

Once you complete training, and are assigned as a line Captain, you can choose 2 of the following supplemental benefits:

  1. Paid sick Leave (5 days per year)
  2. Supplementary Commercial Medical Insurance for pilot
  3. Loss of Medical Certificate Disability Insurance
  4. Language and Culture Study (up to 30,000RMB per year reimbursement)

Supplement House Rental Allowance up to 20,000RMB additional housing allowance per year.  If you elect to live in company-sponsored service apartments, the total will be 30,000RMB and it includes free company shuttle to/from apartments.

Note about Compensation and Taxation:
The compensation amounts listed above have been provided by the airline.  The airline has agreed to pay all taxes owed in China on the different compensation amounts and provide a tax receipt to the pilot. All tax matters are handled by the airline including payment of tax and provision of a tax receipt. WASINC does not pay taxes on behalf of either the pilot or airline, nor does it provide tax receipts.  As taxes in China vary by jurisdiction and the type of payment received, we highly recommend that all candidates confirm directly with the airline as to how much tax is paid in China in order to obtain a full understanding of the compensation associated with the job listing.  Pilots are ultimately responsible for any tax owed in their home country which may or may not be affected by tax paid by the airline.
