B-767 First Officer


Air Japan (AJX) operates a fleet of B767-300ER and B-767-300 aircraft.   AJX operates scheduled services under the ANA brand. The flights are a combination of passenger and freight operations with crews based in Narita, Japan. 

Air Japan is a wholly owned subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA) and operates as an extension of ANA.   ANA is a premier International Airline with a 5-Star rating from Skytrax and superb safety record.   Air Japan is staffed with ANA supervisors, check airmen and instructors; training is done at the Tokyo ANA training facility and the flights are operated under ANA dispatch and operations control.   AJX is a very professional and well organized airline.

Air Japan uses the All Nippon call sign on all flights except the Seoul Incheon and Narita-Honolulu routes, which use the Air Japan call sign.  Air Japan serves routes within Japan and internationally from Japan to China, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, and Vietnam (as of September 2013).



•        Total Flight Experience in excess of 3,000 hours

•        Commercial Jet Experience (airline) in excess of 1,000 hours

•        2,000 hours airline (part 121) Jet experience is competitive

•        Boeing 737 or Airbus A-320 airline experience is preferred (but not required)

•        250 hrs. PIC; 100 hrs. PIC Cross Country; 200 hrs. Cross Country;

•        100 hrs. Night Flight; 75 hrs. Instrument Flight; Required.

•        Valid ICAO State ATPL

•        ICAO Level 4 English

•        Valid ICAO Jet Aircraft Command Type Rating or P2 - SIC Rating

•        Valid ICAO State Class 1 Medical Certificate

•        Commercial Jet Experience (airline) in excess of 1,000 hours

Upgrade - Pilots are eligible for upgrade after completing first contract

*Retirement - Voluntary 401K plan available, Pension Plan: USD $550.00 after completion of training.

*Supplemental Pay - USD $550 per month. Paid during training only.

** Experience Pay - Additional compensation to recognize the crewmember's years of service. Guaranteed for 3 years and subject to review in 3 years.

***Commuting Allowance - USD $2,000 per month or Option of having Business Class (subject to availability)

Accommodation Allowance - USD $550 per month.

Per Diem - USD $44 per night while in training. USD $976 per month thereafter

Term - Five (5) years after the completion of training.  (Training lasts approximately 6 months)

Contract Completion Bonus - CAPT: USD $30,000; F/O: USD $18,000 based on a 5 years of completed service.

Days Off- 10 free duty of which 8 min. consecutive days off and 20/21 operations days per month.

Vacation- 24 days per year. Allocated in 2 equal periods per year.

Sick Leave- Accrue 1 day per 2 months, 12 days max per year.

Health Insurance - International Medical Insurance through Aetna Global for the Crewmember and their eligible dependents.   HCF and Overseas Insurance for Australian Citizens.

Life Insurance- Basic Life Insurance 2x annual salary up to USD $300,000

Disability Income Insurance**- 85% of insured’s income up to a maximum of USD $240,000 per year per any one person.

Loss of License**- Loss of license Benefit of USD $150,000 and Aggregate Limit of Liability: USD $2,000,000 for any one event.

Travel Benefits- ZED/ID Fare Travel available on Star Alliance Carriers, ANA Group and AF/DL/KE/AS/HA and KA airlines for the pilot and their eligible dependents after 6 months of service.

 *All Benefits are calculated based on active duty days.

** Disability Income Insurance and Loss of License plans are available at the pilot’s sole expense for USD $152 per month.
